SubSub is designed to help you track recurring subscriptions while keeping your personal subscription data on your device. This policy explains what information the SubSub iOS app and this website handle.
1. Information you add to SubSub
When you use the app, you may enter subscription names, prices, currencies, billing dates and intervals, notes, reminder preferences, selected logos, active or archived status, and charge history. This information is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage technologies.
2. Notifications and widgets
If you enable reminders, SubSub asks iOS for notification permission and schedules renewal notifications locally on your device. The home-screen widget receives a limited snapshot through an Apple App Group so it can show upcoming charges and totals. This information remains within the app's local container on your device.
3. Purchases
Premium purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple may process payment, account, and transaction information under Apple's own privacy policy. SubSub reads verified entitlement information needed to unlock premium features, such as the product purchased and its current status. The developer does not receive your full payment card details.
4. Data we do not collect
The current version of SubSub does not require an account, run advertising, include a third-party analytics SDK, or send your subscription list, notes, spending totals, or notification schedule to a developer-operated server.
5. Website data
This informational website does not provide user accounts, forms, advertising, or analytics. Its hosting provider may process limited technical information such as IP address, request time, browser information, and security logs as necessary to deliver and protect the site.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your app data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, or uninstall the app. Deleting a subscription also deletes its related charge history from the app's local database. iOS device backups may retain app data according to your Apple backup settings.
7. Children's privacy
SubSub is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated service.
8. Security
SubSub relies on Apple's platform protections and app sandboxing for locally stored data. No method of storage is completely secure, so you should protect access to your device and Apple Account.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when SubSub's features or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
